Doomsday prophet Harold camping shocked the world one more time. Broadcasting from the Family Radio cult radio studios in California while speaking to the press, the cult leader
refused to repent. He refused to apologize. He refused to offer help to the people who sacrificed all that they had to follow his false claim that doomsday would be on May 21. Instead, he explained that Judgment Day was invisible and spiritual and the real doomsday will be on October 21.
Shock statement
After promising over the weekend to issue a statement on Monday, the nearly 90-year old Camping ginned up expectations that perhaps he would attempt to correct the wrongs he hadĀ perpetratedĀ on his followers.
In a shocking move, Camping asserted that his prediction was actually correct. As reported by USA Today,
Saturday was “an invisible judgment day” in which a spiritual judgment took place, he said. But the timing and the structure is the same as it has always been, he said.”We’ve always said May 21 was the day, but we didn’t understand altogether the spiritual meaning,” he said. “May 21 is the day that Christ came and put the world under judgment.”
Five months off, sort of
An unrepentant Camping now says that October 21 will be the rapture, five months following what he now calls the invisible judgment day.
Camping says that he had previously calculated that October 21 would be the day that the earth would burn up as a fireball, but now he understands that the rapture will really be on that day.
Right now it is unclear as to whether he now says that the rapture and the fireball will be on the same day or if the fireball too has been postponed.
Tough Noogies, you lose!
Camping was completely unsympathetic with the followers that he encouraged to spread the word of the May 21 doomsday. Rather than expressing regret that he had deceived them, he simply stated that his Family Radio cult had not told anyone what to do with their possessions. In fact, he said that what they do with their stuff is a decision made between them and God.
Camping says that he has nothing to do with it.
Don’t sell out for October 21
Camping told reporters that even though the October 21 Judgment Day is guaranteed, he will not sell his stuff. He seemed to suggest that doing so wouldn’t make sense, although he didn’t explain why he would need his stuff after his predicted apocalypse. In other words, you can order from Amazon with confidence… no overnight shipping necessary.
Doomsday fatigue
The truth in the Word of God is this: false teachers like Camping should not be followed. No one knows when Jesus will return. No one knows when the end of the world will be. This evil man has deceived his followers two times now. He has explained his lies away with more lies.
One would think that Family Radio cult followers will grow weary of following this wicked man to their own detriment. Let’s hope that they have all had enough and we don’t have to hear about these crazy doomsday predictions any more. Who knows, maybe Camping will expire before October 21.
A Yahoo News story says that Camping “apologized Monday evening for not having the dates ‘worked out as accurately as I could have.’”

I really appreciate the “”new” family radio broadcasts since May 21, with more hymns and Christian music, and no messages of the end of the world, which we know from the Bible, can not be redicted. I am sorry that Mr. Camping misled so many people, but glad to see the new and improved radio station. Perhaps he will see that it is time to retire and allow others to take his place.
Camping is a man devoid of empathy and totally narcissistic.
But why does he keep going? He thrives on attention regardless of pos or neg. Any attention will do. He alone discovered the spiritual meaning of the Bible. When he says “WE” he means “Me,myself and I.” Not phased at all when asked about him being the ONLY one to come up with this stuff. He lies continually. According to Harold God wrote the Bible so it would be misunderstood. God’s love? A snare. Read his awful tract,”Does God Love Me?” God put things to deliberately mislead us. Repent? You can’t. Trust Jesus? You can’t. All we need do is TRUST the Bible. Well kind of. If you did not believe May 21st was the big day….you were not elect. October is coming! Harold already is preparing NEW INFO as he CAREFULLY and ACCURATELY undoes 25 years of error.
