RedState has plenty of trash talk about Mike Huckabee, the Republican phenom who has transformed the 2008 primary season.  This time they’re focusing in on Huckabee’s misstatement about illegal aliens from Pakistan. Read the article HERE.

So what exactly is going on over at RedState?  I think it’s sour grapes.  They came out so strongly for Fred Thompson that they are wallowing in humiliation over Thompson’s “dud” candidacy.  So, Thompson has been a major disappointment.  Rather than throwing their tantrums against Huckabee, RedState should acknowledge Thompson’s problems. He’s no Reagan. He’s not exciting. He’s not a fighter. He’s a loser.  He’s a dud.

Huckabee?  I think he is a genuine person. I think he’s got the truth on his side. I think he’s a man guided by principle.  I think he’s outside the “machine.”  He’s beaten the Clintons twice in Arkansas and I think he’d make a great president.
