Democracy is NOT what we need
I’m sick of folks like GW Bush talking about spreading democracy around the world. I have news for all of you: democracy is not what we need here in the USA and it’s not what’s needed anywhere else.
The United States of America is supposed to be a Constitutional Republic. Under our Constitution, the rights of the minority are vigorously protected. In a democracy, the majority rules. For example, in a democracy, if the majority of the people don’t like Bruce, they can vote to have him imprisoned or even killed. In the Republic, I have Constitutional rights that are protected by the government. Sure, everyone can dislike Bruce, but they can’t put me in jail because I am Bruce. The majority cannot vote to confiscate all my property. The majority cannot persecute me just because of my religion.
So, we don’t really want voters around the world voting to slaughter entire ethnic groups. We don’t want majority voters destroying minority religious and political factions. We don’t want the whim of any majority anywhere deciding to kill, ostracize, or otherwise persecuting anyone under their “Democratic” decisions.
For all you ignorant people out there, STOP SUPPORTING DEMOCRACY! We should support Constitutional Republics that protect and respect the rights of all citizens.
