The South Carolina Senate refused to add provisions to a bill that would actually curb illegal aliens’ activity in the state, but Democrats decided to fillibuster and the SISSY, gutless, immoral Republicans refused to fight. The result?  One more worthless piece of legislation.

We have more Mexicans, Columbians, Hondurans, Guatemalans, etc. I South Carolina (Especially Greenville, SC) than anywhere else in the nation.  OK, I know that we’re not at the top of the list, but how is that possible?

So our “Good Ol’ Boys” down there in Columbia are more concerned about getting illegal aliens jobs than they are concerned about helping out citizens of this nation and of this state.

Gov. Mark Sanford, who had argued that any reform bill should require businesses to use a federal electronic verification system for workers, blasted the plan the Senate approved as not tough enough and criticized the filibuster that came before the vote.

“We’ve had meetings, numerous phone calls and letters back and forth with Senate Republicans over the past couple of days about the need for a strong electronic verification system,” Sanford said in a statement after the vote.

“But it’s clear now that while many in the Senate talk the talk on this front, few walk the walk.”

The governor called it “cowardice” for the Senate to approve the plan through a voice vote, where individuals’ votes aren’t recorded, and attacked the filibuster as a “complete mockery.”

“If Senate Republicans really wanted reform, they should have made the Democrats hold the floor until midnight, the next day, or the day after that,” he said. “But this ‘done in time for cocktail hour’ filibuster really calls into question how serious some Republicans ever were about reform.”

So to all you crimanl aliens out there, “C’mon down to South Caroliner!!”
