DOWN and OUT for incumbent Jonser creep Gloria Haskins

TOP del.icio.us

A local RINO, Gloria Haskins is well known for her pro-illegal alien positions. She has worked feverishly to make sure that criminal residents in the state of South Carolina have plenty of legal loopholes and excuses so they don’t have to worry about being deported. In particular, Gloria Haskins seems thrilled to death with the hundreds of Tuberculosis-infected illegals who staff the Columbia Farms chicken plant off Rutherford Road.

Gloria Haskins is the wife of the late Tom Haskins who was also a RINO creep. In fact, the only reason Gloria Haskins got elected to fill her husband’s seat was the Joneser sympathy vote. I just heard on the radio that Bob Jones University has endorsed her candidacy (again). That endorsement carries enough weight for you all to know that (1) Gloria Haskins is not a politician who will work for the good of Greenville, and (2) that Bob Jones University is wholeheartedly against enforcement of American immigration law.

Just in case that endorsement is not enough, Gloria Haskins was an ardent McCain supporter (and probably still is) up to the time McCain fired her dear little precious Jonser sun for being an incompetent boob (You can read about that HERE).

So, if you are in this bitch’s district, be sure to vote against her in the upcoming primary. I know what you’re saying. You’re saying “The only opponent to anti-America, anti-South Carolina, anti-decency candidate Gloria Haskins is another joneser, Wendy Nanney.” Yeah, that really sucks, but at least Wendy Nanney claims that she will be tough on illegal aliens in the state. Do you believe that? No. I don’t believe it. Jonesers are one of the most disgusting, diabolical set of low-life, holier-than-thou creeps known to humanity, so we won’t know what Nanney would do until she gets elected.

In accordance with Russ Cassell’s “Operation: We’ve Had Enough,” I am forced to encourage you all to vote against known wretch and infidel Gloria Haskins this month in the RINO primary.

Gloria Haskins facing test from Wendy Nanney for renomination

Immigration and effectiveness may be the dominant issues in the House District 22 Republican primary, but they could be overshadowed by an array of personal ties and interrelationships.

And the outcome may hinge on which candidate, Rep. Gloria Haskins or challenger Wendy Nanney, captures most of the votes of the district’s dominant element, the Bob Jones University community.

Try this:

Haskins’ late husband, state Rep. Terry Haskins, was a BJU graduate; Gloria Haskins attended the school; Nanney is a BJU graduate and her father, County Councilman Bob Taylor, is a dean there. Nanney’s husband, Register of Deeds Tim Nanney is also a BJU alum. Through Bob Jones III, the school’s chancellor, BJU participated in development of a Wade Hampton Boulevard memorial to Terry Haskins.

Gloria Haskins’ oldest son, Bryan, is challenging Taylor’s bid for another term on council.

Nothing personal, Haskins and Nanney say, just politics.

For Haskins, her first test since winning her late husband’s seat in 2000, is shaping up as a tough one. With no Democrat having filed in the strongly Republican district, the primary probably will determine which one will hold the seat for the next two years.

Nanney is building her campaign around a tough stance on immigration, something she says Haskins has failed to do, and has raised questions about Haskins’ attentiveness to her legislative duties.

“She hasn’t gone far enough on immigration and her constituent service is probably a major (element) that is lacking. She’s not real responsive to the constituents. She’s not available to them. That’s been a major frustration with a lot of people,” Nanney said.

Haskins rejects the assertions, citing her co-sponsorship of the House GOP’s main immigration bill, support for denying GED diplomas to those who don’t take the test in English and opposing driving privileges for illegals.

Nanney criticized Haskins for missing a committee meeting on her own immigration bill. “I know that she was not in attendance. She needs to be there, dealing with it.”

Haskins said she had another committee meeting at the same time and dealt with amendments on the floor, adding that Nanney’s comment shows her inexperience. “She doesn’t know the process.”

As for how she handles her office, “I’ve never heard a negative comment, especially about constituent service,” Haskins said. “What I bring to the table is what I’ve done for this district.”

That includes, she said, the Lake Fairfield flood control project, working with neighborhoods to block development that threatened property values and generating bipartisan support for making BJU students eligible for state LIFE Scholarships.

Both women shrugged off any personal elements to the campaign.

“I didn’t run against Gloria for any personal reasons,” Nanney said. “Gloria and I were friends and I just felt we needed to be represented better. I can’t explain why Bryan ran against dad. That was their choice, their decision. It was a last-minute surprise to us.”

Haskins said her son’s Council District 22 primary challenge to Taylor was his decision, not retaliation on her part.

“It was his decision alone. As a mother … I hesitated to see him run (but) public service is something that our family has always been involved in, something my children have known since birth. My husband would be proud of our son,” Haskins said.

Both candidates are aware of the influence of the district’s BJU vote. “I don’t think people are going to vote according to our Bob Jones connections,” Nanney said. “It’s kind of an irrelevant point. It’s about who we are and what we intend to do in office.”

That said, she added, it’s true that winning the district without substantial support from the BJU community would be difficult because “it’s a huge part of the district. I’m not saying they’re irrelevant, just that people don’t necessarily vote based on how long you went to school there.”

Where most of Haskins’ first-quarter donations came from Columbia area political action committees, Nanney drew substantially from Greenville business interests.

Entering the campaign’s final weeks, Haskins reported available cash of $10,419 and Nanney, $16,865 as of March 31, a rare reversal of the incumbent’s usual financial edge.

The reports to the state Ethics Commission showed that Haskins raised $3,612 during the year’s first quarter for an election cycle total of $13,129. Nanney listed $16,550 for the quarter and $17,300 for the campaign. Haskins reported a $10,000 loan balance.

State law does not require legislative candidates to report the occupations of donors.

One comment to “DOWN and OUT for incumbent Jonser creep Gloria Haskins”

  1. Comment by Tim Nanney:

Just to be clear, the ad claiming a BJU or Stephen Jones endorsemnt of Gloria is FALSE. Please see http://www.bju.edu/BJUstatement.pdf . I can however assure you that Wendy’s position on illigal immigrataion will be consistantly and dramatically different than Mrs. Haskins.
