Edwards… {12 seconds of silent thought}… no moral leader.

Monday, April 30th, 2007

Stunning how Edwards has no moral leadership in his life. In fact, I believe Edwards was shocked at the word “Moral,” knowing that he is completely immoral. Oh well.

From the transcript of Rush Limbaugh’s show on Friday, 4/27/07:

RUSH: I got out of New York late. I probably rolled into the house at two in the morning, so I’m flying home last night, and I’m watching replays of this press conference that the Democrats called a debate, and what struck me about it — and we have some sound bites. Frankly, I went to the roster, and there’s nothing worth playing. In fact, the most important sound bite from last night was ten to 12 seconds of nothing. When the Breck Girl was asked who is his moral leader, who does he look to for moral guidance, ten to 12 seconds went by and he didn’t say anything. He had to stop and think about that!

Then he finally said, My Lord, his wife, and then somebody else. Mrs. Clinton is being roundly praised for being the only candidate, when asked the question, if a couple cities get nuked by Al-Qaeda tonight during the debate, what’s your reaction? “We’re going to retaliate,” she said. Obama said, “Well, we gotta get the first responders out.” He started trashing Bush on Katrina. “We gotta get first responders.” The last thing he said he would do is retaliate. He just used it to bash Bush. All of them, they were running against George W. Bush last night. That’s one of the things that didn’t surprise me, but you’re going to have figure out that Bush is not on the ballot anymore, and it really doesn’t matter. We have some Survey USA results of who the people in South Carolina thought won this press conference. Did you watch it, Mr. Snerdley? You didn’t? I can’t believe that. Did you, Brian? Well, no. I shouldn’t have asked. I know Dawn didn’t have time.

Turns out Obama Hussein’s so-called Christian faith is one that hates Israel and loves terrorists. His pastor hangs with the likes of Louis Farrakhan and Muammar al-Gadaffi. Let’s face it… Not only is he an incompetent boob, but Obama HUSSEIN is an enemy of America.

Vote for RINO McCain and Get Democrats FREE!

Monday, April 30th, 2007

McCain has to be nuts! Those who want Democrats in charge will obviously vote for a real Democrat, not a RINO. Republicans want a Republican, not a Democrat, so why would anyone vote for a dissembler like John McCain? This dude is a LOSER!

Let’s Play “Guess the Religion!”

Monday, April 30th, 2007

A couple weeks ago, Rush introduced a new game called “Guess the Religion.”  Not that I can play it nearly as well as he can, but I’d like to guess the religion of the man who killed four at a Kansas City mall over the weekend.

1. Mormon
2. Baptist
3. Islam
4. Roman Catholic

4 Dead After Violence in Kansas City
Apr 30, 12:46 AM (ET)
By HEATHER HOLLINGSWORTH

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - A man driving a dead woman’s car shot a police officer, then opened fire in a parking lot and a mall Sunday, authorities said. By the end of the day, four people, including the gunman, were dead.

The chaos ended when police shot the gunman to death outside a Target store inside Ward Parkway Center in south Kansas City, police spokesman Tony Sanders said.

The gunfire sent shoppers and employees scurrying for cover. Target employee Cassie Bradshaw, 19, of Kansas City was in a break room with two other people when they first heard shots. Then, her co-workers saw a man in his 50s with a rifle “shooting everywhere,” she said.

“It sounded like maybe firecrackers at first but then they got louder and louder and louder, and it sounded like someone shooting a gun,” she said.

The string of violence began early Sunday afternoon, when police went to a home to check on an elderly woman relatives hadn’t seen for days. The woman was found dead and her car missing, Sanders said.

The car was spotted later in the day at a gas station by an officer, who pulled the driver over and was shot in the arm, police said. The officer, whose wound was not life-threatening, returned fire and shattered the window of the gunman’s car.

The car took off and reports began arriving about 10 to 15 minutes later of shots fired at the shopping center. The man pulled into a parking space and fired at the cars on either side of him, killing two people, authorities said. He fired more shots, wounding at least two people, then went inside the mall, Sanders said.

“Everybody was leaving the mall when the officers ran inside,” Sanders said. “They confronted the man and after confronting him, shot and killed him.”

Although witnesses reported hearing shots inside the mall, Sanders could not immediately confirm it….

CELEBRATING THE FIRST YEAR OF TRUTH!

Sunday, April 29th, 2007

We began the TIW Blog on 4/25/06 as a place to express political and religious opinions. It’s turned out to be a little more than that, as any of our readers can tell. We’ve enjoyed a lot of the comments that have been left and we always enjoy a good debate.

Just for fun, here’s the first post after we began.  It concerned skyrocketing oil prices:

 Politics and Oil Part 1
I am just about fed up with this “high gas prices” stuff. The way prices have increased lately have noticeably hindered our family’s lifestyle. Perhaps what aggravates me the most is all the conservative pundits that bend over backwards to excuse the oil corporations’ complicity in the problem. They say that this is a free market supply and demand issue. While I am in favor of free enterprise, we must note that the oil business does not operate under free market principles. I went over to http://www.answers.com to find out exactly what is meant by the term “free market:” free market n. An economic market in which supply and demand are not regulated or are regulated with only minor restrictions. The fuel market is intensely regulated by the American Central Government. The cost associated with compliance itself is enough to preclude entrance into the marketplace. Acquisition costs of land, drilling rights, equipment, etc. are also prohibitive. Therefore, only a select few can participate in the business of delivering fuel to American consumers. Consider also that oil is an essential element to American life. Just as we cannot function on an individual level without food, water, sewer, and electricity we cannot function without oil. While the market is fairly competitive in the food supply, we recognize that the free market cannot be applied to essential utilities. Why? Because practical considerations make competition in those markets a virtual impossibility. Go ahead and build a water system to compete for service to homes in your city. It won’t work! The regulations for starting up such an enterprise are prohibitive, so no competition exists. Now, let’s look at the free market operation on groceries. Suppose I shop at Bilo on a regular basis. Now, suppose Bilo increases their prices to the point I become unhappy. If I were buying yogurt, I might change from Yoplait to Southern Home to save money. Then again, I may just go to the Walmart Super Center where prices are less. If too many people stop buying at Bilo, the prices will go down if the company wants to remain in business. Similarly, the prices at Walmart will eventually increase seeing that demand is up. We now revisit the fuel business. Exxon raises prices too much, so I decide to go to the Hess station. The price there increases so I try to go to Murphy USA. What do I find out? The price per gallon of gasoline does not vary more than 5 or 10 from station to station. Why is this? Because only a few gasoline suppliers exist. Those suppliers get oil from an even smaller selection of distributors which get oil from still fewer oil producers. The prices are extraordinarily high, yet I purchase the gasoline anyway because without it I cannot work, educate my children, buy food, visit friends, etc. So we find that there is very little effect consumer demand has upon the price of fuel. We might say that the price of gasoline is inelastic: regardless of price, the demand will remain approximately the same. Those who suggest that the oil companies’ profit margins remain the same. This also is a spurious argument. Most people probably could understand price increases based on increased cost. That in both dollars and percentage oil companies’ profits are soaring exponentially is evidence that they are increasing prices at a rate that is greater than their increasing costs. This is taking unfair and immoral advantage of their closed market to economically rape the American consumer. TO BE CONTINUED….

What we didn’t know, however, was the extent of SPAM directed to blogs: a problem that we’ve had to deal with on an almost daily basis. We’ve finally got the SPAM under control, but in the process, we understand that we have limited the ability of some legitimate users to share their thoughts here. In fact, we have turned commenting off as a default condition of our posts, so now, we expect very few comments online, but you can still send them in via email.

IRAN is the solution to problems in Iraq?

Sunday, April 29th, 2007

In another one of Bush’s inexplicable decisions, the United States is going to participate in a regional conference in Iraq that is headlined by…. IRAN!

Give me a freaking break!  Iran is killing our soldiers!  Iran is blowing up civilians!  Iran is shipping weapons and bombs into Iraq faster than Mexicans are coming into the USA!  And now, suddenly, we think that they are going to help stabilize the region?  The only way Iran could help stabilize anything is if they have been bombed into oblivion by the USA.

From the article:

BAGHDAD (AP) - Iran agreed Sunday to join the U.S. and other countries at a conference on Iraq this week, raising hopes the government in Tehran would help stabilize its violent neighbor and stem the flow of guns and bombs over the border.

In an apparent effort to drive home that point, Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki told an Iranian envoy that the persistent violence in Iraq - some of it carried out by the Shiite militias Iran is accused of arming - could spill over into neighboring countries, including those that are “supposed to support the Iraqi government.”

Iraq’s other neighbors as well as Egypt, Bahrain and representatives of the five permanent U.N. Security Council members have agreed to attend the meeting Thursday and Friday in the Egyptian resort of Sharm El-Sheik.

The conference will also include Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, raising the possibility of a rare direct encounter between high-level U.S. and Iranian officials…

New Book to Tell What We Already Know: Clintons are Liars

Sunday, April 29th, 2007

We knew before he got elected (That’s why we were shocked that he did get elected). We knew while he was president (That’s why he should have been removed from office). We knew when he got re-elected (That’s why we were shocked that he did get re-elected). We knew during his entire second term (That’s why we were shocked that he did get elected). We have known every day since he left office. We have known since his wife ran for senate from a state in which she did not reside. We have known since she has served in the senate. We have known since she got re-elected to the senate. We have known since she has been running for president. So, tell me, why do we need a book to tell us that Bill Clinton and his wife are pathological liars and power-brokers who will do anything to destroy the people that get in their way (Remember The Clinton Body Count?).

Mrs. Bill Clinton Peddles Usual Lies in Greenville

Friday, April 27th, 2007

Same old crap happened here in Greenville (except I’m not sure if she put on the fake black accent). Complaining about undoing Bush’s “damage,” triple-speak about education, pandering, even using Jesse Jackson’s mother as a prop.

She did get a question that she was not expecting: one that asked her the difference between murder and abortion. I bet she was just livid to hear that one! Of course, she can’t answer it, so she started talking about medical choices for mothers. No surprise because she really can’t answer any question if the answer isn’t “Bush sucks.”

If you want to puke, go ahead and read the article in The Greenville News. Our friendly local paper seems like it’s published by the DNC, so they’re practically intoxicated from covering The Breck Girl and Mrs. Bill Clinton on the same day!

“Bilingual” Mrs. Bill Clinton Defends Pandering Fake Accent

Friday, April 27th, 2007

When Mrs. Bill Clinton defended her use of fake black and fake southern accents that come and go depending on who’s in the audience, she claimed that she is “multilingual.” Is she really insulting southerners and blacks by saying that southern and “black talk” are languages that differ from English? Or is she really fluent in more than one legitimate language? She doesn’t seem intelligent enough to know a second language and besides, I think GW speaks nearly fluent Spanish.

Unknown is whether Mrs. Bill Clinton used her fake accent in Greenville to pander to Blacks at the AME church.

From the article:

GREENVILLE, S.C. (AP) - Democratic presidential hopeful Hillary Rodham Clinton said Friday she sees her sometimes Southern accent as a virtue.

“I think America is ready for a multilingual president,” Clinton said during a campaign stop at a charter school in Greenville, S.C.

The New York senator—who said she’s been thinking about critics who’ve suggested that she tried to put on a fake Southern accent in Selma, Ala.—noted that she’s split her life between Arkansas, Illinois and the East Coast.

Clinton added a Southern lilt to her voice last week when addressing a civil rights group in New York City headed by the Rev. Al Sharpton. On Monday, dealing with a microphone glitch at a fundraiser for young donors, she quoted former slave and underground railroad leader Harriet Tubman.

The two episodes prompted some ribbing in the media and hatched more than a few humorous YouTube video clips.

Clinton is a linguistic polyglot—a Chicago native turned New York resident who works in Washington and spent two decades living in Arkansas when her husband, Bill Clinton, was governor.

But observers have long noted her tendency to speak Southern primarily in front of black audiences, as she did with Sharpton last week and at a civil rights commemoration in Selma in March.

All the Democrats are vying for the support of black voters—a crucial constituency especially in the early voting state of South Carolina. In 2004, black voters comprised nearly 50 percent of the state’s Democratic primary turnout.

Update: Tabernacle Children’s Home Abuse Case

Children’s home abuse investigation continues

The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate allegations of sexual and physical abuse at Tabernacle Baptist Church’s children’s home during the mid-1980s and early 1990s.

Earlier this month, the Sheriff’s Office reported that a man had been charged with sexually abusing at least two children at the home during that period and that a former director of the home was charged with failing to report the abuse.

Gregory Lane Jones, 50, of 89 Ashley Lane in Hiram, Ga., was charged with two counts of attempting or committing a lewd act on a minor, the warrants said.

Perry Franklin Sims, 58, of 302 West 9th Street in Sylacauga, Ala., was charged with two counts of child neglect and one count of failure to report child abuse, the warrants said. The warrants charge that Sims, who was director of the home in the mid-1980s and early 1990s, beat at least two different children, which caused severe bruising.

The investigation began last April when a local attorney contacted the Sheriff’s Office about a man coming forward about possible sexual abuse, a report said. The man, now 26, alleged that Jones sexually assaulted him while he was living at Tabernacle in the mid-1980s and early 1990s, the report said. The man told investigators that the assault began when he was 7 years old and continued for several years, according to Sheriff’s Office records.

A second victim, according to a warrant, said Jones molested him in 1984 when he was 10 years old and that the abuse continued for four years.

The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office said it is encouraging people who have information on the case or who may have been victims of abuse to call 864-467-5240.
