Robert H. Schuller ended his reign at the Crystal Cathedral after receiving an unfavorable vote from the executive board of the church. Never known for standing for truth in the Word of God, Schuller’s believed in an open congregation that had nothing to go with the truth in the Word. His daughters helped oust him after instituting new conservative measures that restricted participation in the ministry. Known for positive attitudes and not for study in the Bible, Schuller ran his gay-designed cathedral into chapter 11 bankruptcy. Schuller’s wife reportedly voted to keep him at the helm of the “ministry,”
According to the Ocean County Register, the Crystal Cathedral owes about $7.5 million, but also has an offer from a developer to buy the buildings used by the organization for $46 million.
Choir members should be Christians?
Issues such as a new initiative asking choir members to confess Jesus Christ as their personal savior and renouncing sodomite marriages were toking contention between Schuller, his daughters and the board. Although any study in the Bible seems to suggest that church members should be Christians, Schuller took the opposite approach, saying that the church is for everyone, including sodomites and unbelievers. Contradicted by ordinary study of the Bible, the 84-year-old minister now has no control over the empire he both founded and ran into the ground.
A grim future
Robert Schuller has few years remaining in his life, his troubling track record in deception and preaching a false gospel may not only have damned many innocent souls to Hell. Truth in the Word suggests a potentially unfavorable eternal disposition of Schuller, should he not repent.
But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed. As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed. (Galatians 1:8-9)
